AMIE BAKERY STORE POLICIES

Please read our store policies in full. If you have a concern or question not listed in our policies, please ask a manager for clarification or assistance.

CAKE AVAILABILITY AND ORDERING
In general, our basic layer cakes can be made with short notice but availability depends on flavors and current volume of orders, and availability is not guaranteed. We ask for at least 48 hours notice for all cakes, but please ask—often we are able to accommodate requests for faster turnaround.

Our staff is trained to take basic cake orders. For special requests or other decorative details, please email us at amie@amiebakery.com or ask to speak with our cake decorators by calling 508-428-1005. Only orders that are paid in full will be added to our production queue.

CAKE PORTFOLIO & ONLINE CAKE GALLERY
Our cake portfolio and online gallery feature a variety of cakes to order and serves as a way to give you an idea of possibilities. Please note: color, writing/font and décor for the cakes in our books/gallery or ones that are submitted to us for inspiration. Each cake is a unique creation and therefore, your cake design may vary depending on each cake decorator’s style and technique. We will always make our best effort to match the desired cake design you select.

DESIGNS/PICTURE SCANS/COLORS & CREATIVE FREEDOM POLICY
Our team of cake decorators and pastry chefs are talented. Please rely on their expertise to make/decorate your cake and allow them the creative freedom to deliver the best results. Suggestions about themes, color palettes/tones, and other general decorations are welcome, however, EXTREMELY SPECIFIC requests and needs such as (but not limited to) exact positioning/placement of decorations and colors, writing font and other items may not be possible to execute.

Please remember that each decorator has their own style and techniques; therefore, exact replications are not possible. When you place an order with AMIE Bakery, you automatically grant us creative freedom.

COLOR REQUESTS/COLOR MATCHING
We will do our best to match any requested colors; however, it’s best to bring a physical swatch or sample of the color desired. Emailing us a picture is not acceptable for precise color matching; computer monitors and printers all vary. Color is also very subjective. Describing a color can be tricky. Example: Ocean Blue. Our decorator may think of ocean blue as a deeper blue color and you may think it’s more of a blue-green.

PAYMENT
All orders must be paid in full at the time of order. If you have an order started, but have not yet paid in full, then you do not have a spot on our schedule. We will continue to accept orders that have been paid in full until we are out of availability. Your payment guarantees a spot on our production schedule.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We receive a large number of requests for special orders every week and can only accommodate a certain capacity. When you cancel an order with enough notice, it enables us to accommodate another customer’s request.

When a last minute cancellation is made, we are unable to make up for the lost sale; therefore, a 30% cancellation fee will be retained. In order to maintain a manageable workload and maintain the quality of our work, we must enforce this policy.

Significant alterations to cake flavors, size, or decorations must be made by phone and with 7+ days notice. Change requests cannot be guaranteed and are subject to our production schedule/availability. If you cancel:

Rescheduling or changing your order without proper notice will incur a 30% cancellation fee on the original amount, plus any difference owed (if applicable).

  • more than 7 days notice, a full refund will be issued.

  • within 2 - 7 days notice: a merchandise credit for paid amount will be issued.

  • 2 days or less notice: refunds will not be issued. Orders cancelled or significantly changed on short notice (2 or less days prior to pick-up date) will be compensated by store credit minus a 30% cancellation fee.

For catering orders: Catering orders will not be refunded or credited if there are any cancellations 7 calendar days before pick up or delivery.

MERCHANDISE CREDIT POLICY
Any discrepancies with a product after it has left our store must be documented with a photo, or you must return the item to the store within 48 hours of pick-up.

Merchandise credits will not be honored without proof of discrepancy and are left up to the manager's discretion. We only give credits if the mistake was on our part. Mistakes DO NOT include décor details such as (but not limited to) color shades/tones, writing font, décor placement, etc. This is strictly enforced by our creative freedom policy. NO EXCEPTIONS. We require all customers picking up orders to inspect their items.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CAKE TRANSPORT/CARE
Upon cake pick-up, please be sure to hold the box from the bottom, not the sides, to prevent possibly ruining the sides of the cake. Once the cake leaves the bakery, we are no longer responsible for any damage to the cake.

TRAVELING A LONG DISTANCE WITH A CAKE
We recommend that your cake be placed on a flat, level surface such as the floor, trunk or back of an SUV. Bringing along something that can keep your box from sliding during transport is helpful. Blankets, towels or other items tucked next to the cake box can keep it in place. If you have to place your cake on a seat, make sure you can keep the cake level by tucking blankets or coats under the box so it does not lean. In warmer months, make sure your vehicle is cool/air conditioned. Frosting, fillings, or fondant decorations can become soft and unstable when exposed to heat and humidity.

STORING & SERVING OUR CAKES
Store your cake somewhere cool. It may be stored in the refrigerator but should be served at ROOM TEMPERATURE for best texture and flavor. Extra cake may be stored in airtight container or plastic wrap and stored in the freezer.

Please keep in mind, repeatedly moving a cake from cool to warm temperatures could result in decorations becoming soft or unstable and fillings to become soft, which can create leaning or sliding of cake layers/tiers, condensation on the frosting, colors bleeding, etc.

For tiered cakes, start with the top tier and move you way down. Please note that there are plastic or wooden dowels placed in the tiered cakes to secure them; remove them before serving.

DELIVERIES
We offer limited delivery options in the local area as well as setup and delivery for wedding cakes. We apologize for any inconvenience if we are unable to make a delivery—availability to do so also depends on staffing levels.

ALLERGY CONCERNS

NUTS: AMIE Bakery is not a nut-free bakery. We try our very best to accommodate customers with special allergy concerns and make sure our equipment, utensils, and work space have been properly sanitized; however, we use nuts in many products and cannot guarantee that an item has not been in contact with small or trace amounts of nuts. Please use your best judgment when ordering.

GLUTEN-FREE: AMIE Bakery is not a gluten-free facility, however we do offer a few products that are GF. Some of these products may come in contact with other items that contain gluten. Gluten-free cakes need advance notice and are subject to availability. We can make a GF chocolate layer cake or cupcakes.
